FANS of BBC Breakfast tuning in today (November 18, 2021) are wondering where Charlie Stayt is.
The veteran broadcaster is noticeably absent from the famous red sofa.
Where is Charlie Stayt from BBC Breakfast?
Charlie is not hosting BBC Breakfast this morning (November 18, 2021).
No explanation has been given for his absence, but as soon as we know, you'll know.
Charlie joined BBC Breakfast in 2006, initially as a relief presenter.
Since January 2008, he has also been the weekend presenter for the morning show.
He then moved with the programme to Salford and now presents the programme Thursday-Saturday with Naga Munchetty.
Charlie is also the stand in presenter for main weekday host Dan Walker.
Who has replaced Charlie Stayt?
Joining Naga today as her co-host is journalist Jon Kay.
He started his career at the BBC as a trainee reporter back in 1992.
He then worked as a regional reporter for BBC Points West and then moved to the capital as a national news correspondent for BBC London News.
Jon's credits include reporting from Portugal back in 2007 on the investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
He was also the BBC News at Six correspondent during the London Olympics in 2012 and election correspondent during the 2015 general election campaign.
He is now a regular presenter on BBC Breakfast.
When will Charlie Stayt return?
This is yet to be revealed, but it could be tomorrow – Friday, November 19, 2021.
BBC Breakfast kicks off every morning from 6am until 9am.
From Monday to Wednesday the show is hosted by Dan Walker and Sally Nugent.
Charlie and Naga then take over from Thursday to Saturday.
