This Morning fans have shared their utter confusion regarding a guest's supposed The Wizard of Oz-related phobia.
Today's episode (September 2) saw The Speakmans try and assist Elaine Fitzpatrick with her crippling bat fear, which was so bad it almost led to a divorce from her husband.
After a trip to a local wildlife park was unsuccessful, an apparent breakthrough was made when Elaine connected her childhood fear of the Wicked Witch of the West in the 1939 Judy Garland film to her bat phobia.
She said: "You know the thing that frightens me most?
"When I was a child, the Wizard of Oz… the Wicked Witch of the West."

Nick replied: "What's so interesting about that film is the flying monkeys look like bats."
Incredulously, Elaine then responded: "I don't even remember those.
"I didn't know there was flying monkeys in The Wizard of Oz. Is that [the thing] that's frightened me and I've blanked it out?"
"Maybe it is that."
Having finally cracked the root cause of Elaine's phobia, Eva said: "This is definitely something that stems back from childhood.

"We only learn phobias and fears through some sort of life experience where we've been scared or because of learned behaviours, where we copy a parent for example."
Viewers on Twitter were quick to share their disbelief that Elaine's bat phobia had been caused by a completely different animal, which she had apparently forgotten were even in the film.
One commented: "Those are monkeys."
Another wrote: "Let's blame The Wicked Witch of the West."

A third reasoned: "Surely she'd be scared of birds too then?"
Another said: "Oh here we go…. Teeny link to childhood… Its not the bats its an old film… Bingo! Cured!"
"What did The Wizard of Oz do to you? Nothing," one viewer concluded.
