This Country's Daisy May Cooper reveals she's still in hospital with newborn son after 'traumatic few days'

THIS Country's Daisy May Cooper has revealed that she is still in hospital after giving birth following a "traumatic few days".

The 34-year-old actress announced her son's arrival on Tuesday, and concerned fans with a social media update earlier this morning.

The star shared a photo of her son – whose name she is yet to announce – sleeping soundly while swaddled in a knitted blanket.

In the post's caption, Daisy said that she and her little boy were still being cared for by the hospital – but did not elaborate on what was wrong.

She wrote: "Cannot thank @deliverysuitegrh for all they are doing for our little bubba and me.

"Its been quite a traumatic few days and they have gone above and beyond. ❤️❤️❤️❤️"

Daisy's followers expressed their concern as they sent well-wishes in the comments, with one writing: "I hope that everything is okay".

Another added: "Sorry to hear you’ve had a difficult time ❤️ but I am glad you are both being looked after & hope you can be home together soon".

Daisy announced her son's birth with a sweet photo of herself grinning in a hospital bed while cradling her little one – who was wearing a blue knitted hat and patterned mittens.

She captioned the photo: "The bubba has landed and he's absolutely perfect. ❤️❤️❤️❤️😍😍😍😍 @willwestonlandscape"

A second snap showed her husband Will Weston proudly beaming at his son, who was laying on Daisy's chest.

Daisy announced her pregnancy in March of this year, sharing an ultrasound snap from one of her scans.

She and Will – who married last September – are already mum and dad to daughter Pip.

The actress shot to fame in 2017 after starring in This Country, a BBC Three mockumentary about rural life.

She plays slovenly Kerry alongside her real-life brother Charlie, as her dopey cousin Kurtan.

They are joined in the show by their real-life dad Paul, who plays Kerry's feckless, criminal father Martin Mucklowe.

Earlier this year, Daisy and Paul had fans in hysterics when they appeared together on Celebrity Gogglebox.

In July, heavily pregnant Daisy was forced to hit back at cruel trolls after they criticised her appearance on the show.

She regularly could be seen laying on her sofa in a pair of pyjamas, with a viewer nastily tweeting that she looked like a "troll".

Daisy poked fun at the cruel comment, sharing a screenshot of the message before cutting to a video of herself dancing to the song Trolls Just Want To Have Fun from the film Trolls 2.

She captioned the video: "Haters gonna hate, but I'm going to carry on letting my hooters swing."
