ITV’s The Masked Singer is getting heated with the odds stacked against each contestant as they see who can keep their identity hidden the longest. Rick Astley is favourite to be revealed as Traffic Cone with bookies but do fans agree?

The Masked Singer premiered its third season on New Year’s Day and fans of the show are stumped with who is performing.

The show has already exposed three singing celebrities, Lionfish as Will Young, Snow Leopard as Gloria Hunniford, and Chandelier as Heather Small.

Using their best detective skills, fans of the show have run through each character’s set of clues with eagle eyes and have taken to social media to share their theories.

Never Gonna Give You Up singer Rick is currently the favourite with bookmakers Ladbrokes to be unveiled as Traffic Cone.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Plenty of viewers reckon Gary Barlow is the man behind Poodle, and we don’t think they’re barking up the wrong tree with that guess.

“Morten Harket tried to fool judges last year by covering his own song while being disguised as Viking, and the latest odds suggest Rick Astley could be pulling a similar stunt this time out as Traffic Cone.”

Fans on Twitter seem to agree with the betting giant with Lindsay saying: “Calling it now, traffic cone is Rick Astley, the ultimate RickRoll #TheMaskedSinger.”

Another backed up Lindsay’s theory with Serena adding: “#TheMaskedSingerUK I think traffic cone it is Rick Astley he has just changed his voice slightly to throw us like Heather Small did yesterday.”

Traffic Cone performed Never Gonna Give You Up on the show, and when first entering the show, he explained that the shape of their costume is like something close to their heart.

He also said he had a “sporting” chance of keeping the viewers at home and judges guessing.

Traffic Cone also told viewers at home “I’m hoping I’m on the road to success, cos there ain’t no Plan B,” in one of his video segments.

Although 55-year-old Rick is Ladbroke’s favourite, other names flying around include Sir Tom Jones, Peter Andre, and panellist Davina guessed former footballer Chris Kamara.

Other odds have Michael Owen down at just 2/1 to be the man behind Doughnuts.

Singer and TV personality Alesha Dixon is 7/2 to be the voice behind Panda.

Meanwhile, Take That’s Gary Barlow is a 7/4 favourite as the colourful Poodle.

The panel of judges was stumped, with the show host Joel Mcdermott being left clueless as to who Traffic Cone could be.

Joining Davina McCall as judges on the bizarre celebrity talent show are Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan.

The Masked Singer is based on a South Korean version of the show King of Mask Singer and premiered on UK television on ITV on 4th January 2020.

The shows’ previous two winners are no strangers to singing, both having been chart-topping popstars.

Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts won the first season as Queen Bee and singer Joss Stone won last year’s show as Sausage.

The Masked Singer continues on ITV Saturdays at 7pm.
