Spoilers: Emmerdale reveals brutal murder horror for Cain and Moira

Shady new detective inspector Malone (Mark Womack) is set to cause misery and bloodshed as he makes his mark in Emmerdale – and, after a clash with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), he makes it clear that he means business when he trashes the garage and murders one of Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) bulls to issue a very serious warning.

The drama began when a gun being held by Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) ended up in Cain’s hands and he accidentally opened fire and nearly killed Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). Cain and Moira thought the drama was over when they got rid of the gun but it turned out that the firearm belonged to Malone and he has a real hold over ex con Will.

Malone sets a trap to get Will to do another drugs job for him and, terrified of going back to prison and of losing Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Dawn (Oliva Bromley), Will is stressed to the hilt. When Cain later discovers a package hidden in Malone’s car in the garage, he confronts Will and demands to know what is going on.

Will explains what he is caught up in and reveals that Malone has him over a barrel but Cain reckons he can sort this out with a good old fashioned Dingle warning. He is very much mistaken though, when Malone takes revenge and has the garage ransacked and Moira’s bull slaughtered.

As Cain reels, it’s Malone who turns up in his role as detective to question Cain and Moira over whether someone might have a grudge and his message is subtly clear – Cain had better not mess with him. Cain realises that he has met his match and as a dangerous situation gets even worse, Malone is only just starting with Cain.

What will he lead Cain to do – and have Cain and Will found themselves in an impossible situation thanks to the village’s new corrupt villain?
