Screw filming locations: Where was the Channel 4 drama filmed?

CHANNEL 4's latest drama Screw offers a comedic insight into the modern prison system.

Here's what we know about the filming locations.

Where was Screw filmed?

The new show was filmed in Glasgow, Scotland on a set that has been created to replicate a prison wing.

Nina Sosanya, who starred in His Dark Materials and Killing Eve, will lead the cast of Screw as chief officer Leigh Henry at Long Marsh Prison.

She described the set as, "a life-size replica of a prison wing, the sort that might have been built in the mid-19th century where it’s about the railings and the steel steps".

Co-star Jamie-Lee O'Donnell from Derry Girls who plays Rose Gill also added, "Every single time someone walked onto the set for the first time, you could see their jaw drop as they took in the vastness of it."

The set was designed in Glasgow’s famous Kelvin Hall.

Kelvin Hall is an early 20th century exhibition hall that has been utilised for several cultural purposes.
