Sad split ahead for teen Corrie couple Asha and Nina?

Liberated by her new found freedom as she explores a relationship with close friend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher), Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) has found a new sense of acceptance and self confidence, especially after being bullied at school, hating her body image and having a destructive relationship with sleazy Corey in Coronation Street.

Fans have loved watching the partnership evolve and they recently shared a kiss and planned their first date, with Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) going all out to prove that he is here for the relationship, so long as Asha is happy.

And she clearly is as she has fallen hard for her new girlfriend – but is Nina quite so ready to make any form of commitment as excited Asha moves quickly headfirst into things?

Fans will soon start to notice that Nina is less enthusiastic than Asha about taking things further, especially when Asha drops more than one bombshell and seems to be getting carried away in the joy of having a healthy relationship.

But if she doesn’t slow down the pace, she could risk isolating Nina and pushing her away.

A source told Metro.co.uk: ‘Nina wasn’t setting out to become Asha’s girlfriend but the development of their closeness and friendship led them that was naturally. But now that Asha is in the relationship, her vice like grip on her support unit might end up ruining the flow of things.

‘A number of steps will make Nina feel uneasy about how things are moving and whether she is really a healthy choice for Asha. But Asha is in a whirlwind at the moment, swept up in the novelty and the romance and misses some signs.’

While ans would love to see that this could be love’s young dream, the reality of the situation may not be so easy as one person finds themselves on a different path to the other.

Can Nina make Asha see that they need to keep things slow and steady? Or might she be pushed away as things develop?

Could Asha’s heart be broken as a result – or will wise words from Roy and Dev on the situation help both girls reach a compromise and work things out?
