Ruth Langsford loving drama with Phillip Schofield hours after Eamonns dig

Awkward moment between Phil and ‘smiling’ Ruth amid Holly ‘feud’

This Morning saw the return of Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield amid rumours they are embroiled in a “feud”.

The presenters failed to address the claims during Monday’s instalment and instead appeared to be joking around with one another.

Towards the end of the show, Ruth Langsford appeared to give viewers insight into what to expect from the upcoming Loose Women episode.

As she told Phillip about today’s line-up, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Ruth and her history with Phillip.

Dave said: “Ruth’s smile is making me cackle, she’s loving the downfall of Schofe, she’s gonna take a front row seat #ThisMorning”

@kellymew_ added: “Ruth Sideeye Langsford #ThisMorning #loosewomen”

Leanne Thomas shared: “Itv are messy having Ruth on Loose Women today of all days #ThisMorning”

Fish fingerz commented: “Ruth getting down and dirty with the latest Phil drama #thismorning #LooseWomen”

Traylor Holmes added: “I bet Ruth is loving all this drama with Phil #ThisMorning #LooseWomen”

Ruth has hinted about an ongoing feud with Phillip in the past, which seemed to begin after a very tense on-air exchange in December 2019 when Phillip interrupted Ruth.

During one handover from This Morning to Loose Women in 2021, Ruth referenced the time she sent Phillip a Christmas card, before strongly stating there had not been any more.

Her latest exchange with Phillip comes just hours after her husband Eamonn Holmes made a savage dig at the This Morning duo on his GB News show.

He had said: “I think there should have been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors.

“They may or may not be together on the telly today. The public surely will suss that there’s no chemistry, that it’s a broken fit between the two of them and that This Morning does not depend on who presents it.

“It’s an institution, it will carry on no matter who presents it and anyone can check the viewing figures, there’s no difference between whether they present it or anyone else.”

This Morning airs on ITV on weekdays from 10am.
