PREGNANT Katy Perry played it safe days before her due date by wearing pepper spray around her neck during a shopping trip in Santa Barbara, CA.
The 35-year-old singer’s baby bump was on full display after she traveled from Los Angeles to her coastal hometown to be with family as she is set to give birth this month.
Katy – who is expecting her first baby girl with fiancé Orlando Bloom – rocked a purple knee-length dress that tied at the waist on Monday.
The Daises pop star did not take any chances when it came to safety as she had a canister of mace wrapped around her neck.
She also sported a disposable face mask and covered up in sunglasses and a visor.
As the hitmaker picked up lunch from a cafe in her yellow flats, she FaceTimed a friend with shopping bags on her arms.
Katy and her movie star husband-to-be recently revealed they were forced to postpone their wedding for a second time to prepare for their baby.
Orlando – who already shares son Flynn with ex Miranda Kerr – and Katy had originally planned to marry last winter but put it off to marry in Japan this Summer – which also is no longer happening.
The American Idol judge opened up about how the couple have their nuptials on the back burner to focus on welcoming their first child together.
“You can’t plan anymore in 2020 because those plans are always cancelled. We just want to deliver a healthy child," she told US Radio.
"Everyone has to take life one week at a time right now.”
The singer also felt self-conscious being heavily pregnant and sleeping next to her Hollywood heartthrob husband.
“He’s so hot. He’s got a six-pack. I literally look like a square, I look like Shrek.
“Large Marge in charge. Aren’t partners supposed to have that sympathy pound-gain thing?
“Not him, he ages backwards. I think it’s because he gets up at 7am and chants.”
Katy and Orlando have been in an on-again, off-again relationship since 2016.
They split in 2017 before reuniting and then getting engaged on Valentine's Day last year.
Last month, Katy and Orlando’s beloved dog Mighty was announced dead after he went missing for several days.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star got his dog’s name and a heart inked on his chest and wiped away tears as he looked at the tattoo, in an emotional video he posted on Instagram.
The star's teacup poodle went missing last Tuesday and he hired a professional pet detective to help search for the pup.
Orlando explained on Wednesday that after a week of tireless searching, they found Mighty's collar and knew he had died.
He wrote: "Mighty’s on the other side now. After 7 days of searching from sunrise to sunset and into the wee hours, today, the 7th day ~ the number of completion ~ we found his collar…
“I have wept more this week than I thought possible, which has been very cathartic and healing.”
The actor continued in the heartbreaking tribute: "I feel sure he was looking down on me whistling in every back yard and knowing that I was doing all I possibly could to respect our bond.
“He was more than a companion. It was a soul connection for sure. I’m sorry. I love you,” he concluded.
