The Yorkshire Shepherdess joined hosts Gethin Jones and Kimberley Walsh during a recent episode of the BBC morning programme. Amanda, alongside fellow guest Alastair Campbell, had both featured on the BBC’s Winter Walk’s programme, where fans at home saw the pair crossing hills and fields located in the Yorkshire countryside with only a 360-degree camera for company. The much-loved author and her family found fame when their fly-on-the-wall show Our Yorkshire Farm began on Channel 5 back in 2018 documenting their day-to-day lives on Ravenseat Farm. During the interview, the 47-year-old farmer, who shares nine children with her husband Clive, revealed why she struggled with “mum guilt”.

Amanda was quizzed on her parenting by the former Girls Aloud singer, who is also a mother.

Kimberley stated: “Amanda, I have to ask, you have nine children so you are basically my hero.”

She giggled before pointing out: “No wonder you need a bit of time to switch off,

“But do you get, as most of us mums do, the sort of mum guilt?” The host asked.

Without hesitation, Amanda replied: “Always.”

“Yeah, do you?” Kimberley wondered.

The Our Yorkshire Farm star told BBC viewers at home: “I actually have a bit of mum guilt being here right now in the studio.”

In jest, her fellow guest Alastair exclaimed: “Yorkshire is shut off!”

An agreeable Amanda backed the broadcaster’s claim after she added: “Yorkshire is pretty much [shut off].”

The severe weather conditions had caused the Huddersfield-born writer to live without power for days.

Amanda’s revelation came in the midst of Storm Arwen’s grip on the country last month which saw Ravenseat left without power.

She said: “Honestly, [because of] the snow, [there has been] no power since Friday night.”

Host Kimberley responded: “No way!

Alastair chirped: “Are you staying in a nice hotel [and] living it up?”

His fellow guest replied: “Yeah, back to basics,” anticipating the answer before she joked: “Oh, yeah.”

The mother of nine continued: “No, [we’re] wading through [the] snow just like you wouldn’t believe.”

Amanda added: “And [the] children [are] whizzing about on Ski-doo’s.

Reflecting on her time as a parent, Amanda confessed: “I mean, of course, it is difficult to take that time out.”

Soon after, she stated: “But you need to do that.”

The Winter Walks star explained: “It’s something you should encourage,

“And encourage for the kids as well,” she added.
