Jessica Plummer, alongside nine other famous faces, arrived in the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2020 castle tonight. After days of isolation and coronavirus testing, the celebrities were split into two teams – five arriving in a helicopter and the other five in a jeep. Some were tasked with abseiling down a cliff to retrieve their rucksacks, while the other half were on the ground trying to communicate with them in order to get the right answers to unlock their items. After this daunting task was complete, the girls explored their new home and it suddenly struck the EastEnders star that she was away from her young daughter.

One by one, Shane Richie, Beverley Callard, AJ Pritchard, Hollie Arnold and Sir Mo Farah CBE, flew over Snowdonia in separate helicopters.

ITV viewers then saw them dropped off at the bottom of a cliff, where they met each other for the first time.

Together, they noticed a chest containing a scroll, boots and a walkie talkie.

Coronation Street actress Beverley read the scroll out to the group and it explained how they needed to collect their rucksacks which were hanging over the side of the cliff – but they needed help from five other celebrities.

Shane thought the other celebrities might be on the other end of the walkie talkie and tried to communicate…nobody answered.

In fact, the other contestants were being driven to the top of the clopping in their individual jeeps.

After meeting and greeting one another, Jess used the walkie talkie to communicate with those down below and they soon worked out the first Bushtucker Trial.

Each rucksack was padlocked to the cliff and to unlock them they had to answer questions about their fellow celebrities – any celebrity that failed to collect their rucksack wouldn’t have it for the first night in camp.

For Jordan, the nerves had kicked in already and he threw up at the top of the cliff: “I can’t believe I was sick, I’ve only been here five minutes and I’m puking up already.”

Jess, alongside Vernon Kay, Jordan North, Giovanna Fletcher and Victoria Derbyshire had to lower themselves down the cliff face and retrieve the rucksacks – which they all did successfully.

Later on in the show, those watching at home saw the campmates explore their new home, with the ladies discovering a lookout bench perched high above the courtyard.

Giovanna, Jessica and Hollie sat on the seat and watched the remaining campmates.

“Isn’t this romantic?” said Giovanna. “These are the cosy moments,” Hollie added.

But for Jessica, the situation was too much and she started to cry.

“I said to my daughter before we left each other that if she misses me when she’s at home, she looks for the moon, I can look at the moon and we can both see it.”

Realising how she was feeling, Victoria suggested the ladies have a cuddle, and Jessica soon cheered up.

“We’re all in the same situation and we’re all in it together and this is the experience of a lifetime and I want to make my family proud so they don’t want to see me crying and upset,” she added.

Despite it only being day one in the castle, Shane is the favourite to become this year’s King.

According to Coral bookmakers, his odds are currently 7-2, but he has some stiff competition from Jordan who is the second favourite at 4-1.

Jessica sits at 12-1 with it being suggested Hollie and Victoria are the least likely to win with 20-1.
