Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) is set to be left distressed by wife Lola Pearce’s (Danielle Harold) prognosis in upcoming EastEnders scenes, and will reach out to a visitor to bring comfort to the family.
Having been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour last year, recent scenes have seen Lola take a turn for the worse.
After fleeing her leaving party at the salon, Lola collapsed outside the gym, where she was found by Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick).
In upcoming scenes, Lola will be sent home from hospital, despite Ben Mitchell’s (Max Bowden) concerns that she should be kept in.
After being snubbed by Billy, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) approaches devastated Jay and offers him the number of Reverend Mills and encourages him to reach out.
She explains that she may be able to provide some support and comfort to dying Lola, who has been told that her palliative chemotherapy treatment hasn’t worked.
After talking the idea over with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), Jay agrees to call Reverend Mills.
Later, she pays Lola a visit and shares her religious outlook on death.
Their conversation helps to bring some comfort to Lola, who is feeling low after noticing that her speech has become more slurred.
Will the rest of Lola’s family be able to get the same comfort?
