While on the field, Clarice continues her pursue for serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high-stakes political world of Washington DC.

"Clarice's bravery gives her an inner light that draws monsters and madmen to her," CBS explains about Clarice.

Is Clarice based on The Silence of the Lambs?

Clarice is set in 1993, a year after the events of the 90s movie The Silence of the Lambs.

In the 1991 thriller, Clarice is a young FBI trainee who is hunting the serial killer, "Buffalo Bill", who skins his female victims.

To catch him, she seeks the advice of imprisoned Dr Hannibal Lecter, a psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer.

The 90s flick ended when Clarice received a phone call from Lecter during her FBI Academy graduation party.

Lector calls Clarice from Bimini airport, he wishes her well and says he must go because he's "having an old friend for dinner".

Lector trails an unsuspecting Dr Frederick Chilton into the crowd and disappears.

The Silence of the Lambs was released on February 14, 1991, and won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay.
