I’m A Celebrity castle in Wales ‘overlooks beach hot spot for randy doggers’

I’m A Celebrity ’s stars are going to be kept awake in the haunted castle at night by moans and groans.

But it won’t be from the ghosts – the noises will come from randy couples having outdoor romps nearby.

The grounds of Gwrych Castle in Abergele – where the ITV show is being filmed this year – look right down onto a beach.

The area is renowned for doggers.

Police have been called out to the area numerous times following complaints that the location was being used for sex meets.

It has grown in popularity in recent years after it was named as a “hot spot” on a swingers web site.

The local council called for action after innocent beachbathers and dog walkers were invited for romps on the sands and in cars.

One councillor even said: “It’s a long standing issue. People have been going down to the beach and have been subjected to propositions.”

Now it seems our latest batch of stars including Shane Richie, Bev Callard and Mo Farah will end up being kept awake by the naughty nookie hunters.

A source said: “The castle may be haunted but we reckon the only moans and groans they will hear will be from those doggers.

“They’re out in all weathers. The fact that it’s winter won’t stop them getting it on.”

Ant and Dec have also teased that the Welsh series is set to be worse for the stars than the Aussie version, as the trials will be "horrific" and the critters are worse.

Dec, 45, said: “We’re very curious to see how they get on in a cold environment rather than a hot one.”

Ant, 44, added: “Don’t worry, they’re not easing back on the trials. They’ll still be as horrific as they normally are.”

And in an interview with TV Times, Dec revealed: “Some of the spiders here are bigger than ones in Australia – that’s all I’m saying.”

The new series of I’m A Celebrity starts on Sunday on ITV at 9pm.
