EastEnders’ matriarch of the strong Panesar family, Suki (played by Balvinder Sopal) let her tough guard down when Honey (Emma Barton) supported her as she grieved the loss of her son, Jags (Amar Adatia). But after a night of drinking, Suki tried to kiss a stunned Honey, who quickly made an excuse to leave. Since then, the BBC soap has seen Suki going back to her cold ways with Honey. But after denying trying to kiss honey, Suki could be trying to destroy her employee’s relationship with Jay (Jamie Borthwick).
In upcoming episodes, Honey is hoping someone can take her daughter Janet (Grace) to an important audition.
Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) is too busy with work to take her, so Honey reluctantly asks Suki for some time off work.
Suki doesn’t allow her the time off, and Honey has had enough of her boss giving her the cold shoulder.
She decides to confront Suki, blasting her for bullying her since she didn’t reciprocate the kiss.
But Honey is stunned when Suki pretends not to know what she’s talking about.
A few weeks ago, an intoxicated Suki told Honey: “I’d like to make a toast.”
She added: “To my employee of the month.” Honey replied: “Who, me?”
“Well, this is totally unexpected, and I would like to thank the customers for being so friendly,” Honey added.
She continued: “And I would like to dedicate this award to my boss and best supporting friend, Suki.”
She later said: “I like this side of you. Stop hiding it.
“You don’t have to be strong all the time. Let other people see the funny, kind, incredible-“
But she was cut off Suki went to kiss her. “I’m sorry,” Honey said.
“But it’s okay. We’ve both had a bit too much to drink. Maybe I should go.”
Suki replied: “Please – leave.” Since the drunken incident, she has avoided speaking to Honey.
Having had enough of Suki’s behaviour after she denies the kiss, it’s likely Honey will lash out at her.
It took a lot for Suki to drop her tough exterior in front of Honey, so she is likely to be embarrassed and angry over what happened.
But it seemed she was getting attached to Honey, who vowed to remain friends with her after Suki kept pushing her away initially.
With the pair now arguing over Suki’s lies, it seems their friendship has been damaged for good.
But is Suki simply trying to cause problems between Jay and Honey?
She may even turn things around on Honey before the truth comes out.
Suki might go to Jay and lie about the kiss, telling him Honey had tried to kiss her to create problems for the couple.
If Jay believes her and confronts Honey, things will probably become tense between the two.
If they separate, Suki might see it as her chance to step in and be there for Honey, hoping she will have a shot with her if she’s no longer with Jay.
Will she manage to break the couple up? Honey and Jay have been going strong for a while now, but Jay has always had suspicions about Suki.
He was offended when Honey decided to bring her to her awards night instead of Jay, and he believes Suki can be selfish and take advantage of Honey.
If he believes what Suki tells him, Honey might decide to leave him for not taking her account of what happened seriously.
Could Suki’s denial be part of a place to rip the couple apart?
EastEnders continues on Thursday at 7.30ppm on BBC.
