Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) has no idea her mum Jean Slater (Gillian Taylforth) fears her cancer has returned. The Slater matriarch had been growing close to Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) in her daughter’s absence but issued an ultimatum when she discovered the EastEnders club owner had lied about trying to help keep Stacey out of prison. But, could Ruby’s deception push Martin Fowler (James Bye) and Stacey back together?
Ruby accused Stacey of pushing her down the stairs and causing her miscarriage.
Unbeknownst to Martin, Stacey and Jean, Ruby had already lost her baby and lied to keep her husband to herself.
However, the club owner could finally be getting her comeuppance after confessing all to Jean.
In upcoming scenes, Ruby fears she’s running out of time to hold onto her marriage.

Jean warned her she would tell Martin the truth by the time she’d returned but Ruby desperately tries to stop that from happening.
Martin tries to get money out of their joint account and is alarmed to discover his wife has transferred a huge sum to Jean.
The club owner explains Jean’s concerns about her cancer returning and her decision to refuse further tests.
Martin is horrified and fights with his conscience on whether to tell Stacey.
After receiving good news from the doctors, Ruby is thrilled when she realises she’s ovulating.
However, Martin rejects his wife as he explains he can’t stop worrying about Jean.
Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) tells the pair she’s excited Jean’s coming home.
Ruby panics and asks Martin if they can go away on holiday together away from the square.
Martin shuts his wife down and tells Ruby that Jean needs them to be there for her.

Will Ruby tell her husband the truth about Stacey or will she wait until Jean returns?
Martin lived with Jean and the Slaters for many years while married to Stacey.
Could Martin’s eagerness to put Jean before Ruby be a sign he’s drifting away from his wife?
He’ll be mortified by his wife’s actions and this may push him closer to his ex-wife.
Ahead of Louisa Lytton’s maternity leave, EastEnders fans have been left divided by what happens next to Ruby.
