EastEnders confirmed a pregnancy storyline for Lola Pearce on Thursday, as the character learned she was pregnant with Jay Brown's baby.
Lola discovered she was expecting a baby during the episode, after taking a test.
She hadn't told partner Jay about her suspicions, and was just as surprised as he was when the test came back positive.
Lola found Jay in the living room and was seen crying, leaving him concerned about what she had to say.
In the next scene, the pair were discussing her pregnancy with her holding a used test.
Lola spoke of using the contraceptive pill, but couldn't remember if she had been taking it on time.
The couple have been going through a lot recently, with close friend Dennis Rickman dying in the boat crash, and best pal Ben Mitchell suffering major hearing loss in the same incident.
Lola seemed puzzled, while Jay was overwhelmed by the news.
Turning to Lola he said: "So you're actually pregnant?"
He was shown covering his mouth in shock, before grinning at the idea of becoming a dad – with him currently stepfather to Lola's daughter Lexi.
Lola didn't seem to share this reaction though, reeling from her discovery.
