Danny Dyer blasts woke generation as he claims they ditch Turkey on Christmas

Danny Dyer suggested that members of the "woke generation" don't eat turkey at Christmas.

The EastEnders actor, 44, made the 'woke' comment when he appeared on a Christmas edition of Michael McIntyre's The Wheel.

The festive special, which aired on Christmas Day (December 25) – saw Danny join the likes of BBC radio host Zoe Ball and comedians David Walliams and Jason Manford.

When it was Danny's turn to spin the wheel, he was asked a question: "According to a 2020 YouGov Survey, what percentage of Britons said they had turkey for dinner?"

The star's options were 94%, 74%, 54% and 34%.

Danny said: "It's got to be 74 isn't it? Wouldn't be 94. Woke generation and all that. They won't…"

Host Michael replied: "They don't have turkey…"

Danny answered: "Nah."

Fans on Twitter rushed to comment about the moment immediately.

One fan said: "Danny Dyer just said ‘The woke generation’ don’t eat Turkey on BBC One classic Christmas telly"

A second said: "Danny Dyer there, outing himself as a massive gammon… with a "woke generation cliche. Is he after a Radio 4 comedy job?"

A third wrote: "Danny Dyer going off message"
