Coronation Street fans were left baffled after Alan Halsall’s character Tyrone Dobbs was called “middle aged” during an episode of the ITV soap.
The moment happened during Monday night’s episode when Sally Dynevor’s character Sally Webster was talking to Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) and Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu), who Tyrone recently kissed and has now left his long-term partner Fiz Snape (Jennie McAlpine) for.
Sally told Kirk in front of Alina: “I’d watch it if I were you Kirk, she has a thing for middle aged men”.

Tyrone appeared and said: “Just leave her alone will you?"
To which Sally replied: “I think you’re the one who should be leaving her alone.”
But Sally's comement left Kirk perplexed, with the Underworld driver saying: “Hang on, middle aged?”
Tyrone being referred to as “middle aged” left not only Kirk but many Corrie fans baffled to say the least, with one writing on Twitter: “So if Tyrone Dobbs is 38 years old why are people on the street calling him middle aged?? @alanhalsall #Corrie #Fiz”
Another wrote: “Why do they keep saying Tyrone is middle aged? Has he even hit his 40’s? Middle aged is 50’s is it not? #Corrie”. A third added: “Tyrone Dobbs is not middle aged #Corrie”.
Tyrone was born on 17th December 1982, making him 38 years old, while Alina was born in 1998.
