A Place in the Sun guests wont step inside apartment not even worth £82

A Place In The Sun's Ben Hillman was left in an awkward situation when his property hunters were so disgusted by an apartment they wouldn't even take a look inside.

In a repeat episode on Monday (November 1) first aired in September 2020, Debbie and Paul were hunting for their dream holiday home on the island of Fuerteventura.

Unfortunately, Ben was left "flogging a dead horse" on the Channel 4 show in his fruitless search with the couple.

Despite their modest budget of £115,000, Debbie and Paul wanted enough room for their parents and Paul's children to stay over.

Property number one, a two-bed townhouse in Caleta de Fuste, was valued at £107,759.

The couple said it had "too many stairs" and so it was eliminated.

Property number two, in Caleta de Fuste Bajo, was a two-bedroom bungalow on the market at £107,586 and was "too small".

With his search looking doomed, Ben went further afield to Costa de Antigua in a more "affordable" part of the island to show them an apartment valued at £81,897.

The two-bedroom duplex was situated in a courtyard and came with the use of a communal swimming pool.

Inside there was a bright lounge with its own balcony, a modern kitchen, a tiled bathroom and two double bedrooms.

Debbie and Paul never got to see inside the recently renovated apartment because they refused to take a look.

Standing outside the block, Ben asks them: "What are you thinking?"

Debbie bluntly says: "Shocking."

Her partner Paul then says he was "struggling to find anything good" about the apartment and wouldn't even pay £82 for it.

"It's that bad is it?" says a shocked Ben, who then admits he is "flogging a dead horse" when the couple won't look inside.

They also didn't like property four and five, and so returned to the UK without having any offers accepted.
