Virgil Abloh‘s PYREX VISION is making a return with Denim Tears. Previewed by Tremaine Emory, this resurrection of the pre-Off-White™ label is not only a homage to the late Abloh’s early beginnings, but the way Emory has chosen to bring the label back has been done in a way that is sure to interest those that have been following the cultural movements of streetwear for last few decades.
On top of the signature Polo Ralph Lauren Rugby flannels, many will remember the signature hoodie with Caravaggio’s The Entombment of Christ. Emory has layered this PYREX VISION/Denim Tears collab with special references like utilizing Cecco del Caravaggio’s — an important early follower of Caravaggio — The Resurrection as the graphic — this painting is also part of the Art Institute of Chicago’s permanent collection. Going a step further, the “Pyrex Tears” logo updates the “23” to “45” a nod to Michael Jordan’s return to the game. Not much other info has been released but those looking to learn more should pay close attention to Emory’s upcoming works.
