Supermarkets have been able to stay open throughout the entire pandemic because they sell essential products. However, supermarkets aren’t immune from bank holiday hours. Express.co.uk contacted Tesco to find out what time Tesco supermarkets and stores are open this weekend.
Easter weekend is a time for family, gifts, games, hearty meals, and of course… chocolate!
If you haven’t had time to pop to the supermarket or have failed to preorder a fancy easter egg online, you might be worried that it’s too late to get your hands on one now.
Fear not, there is still time to head to your local supermarket and stock up on Easter-themed goods.

The Sunday Trading Act 1994 requires all large stores of more than 280 square metres in England, Wales and Northern Ireland to close on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day, and Bank Holidays.
Easter Monday is a Bank Holiday so the same rules apply. You’ll only see smaller shops opening on Easter Sunday and Monday.
Shops are able to open on Easter Saturday and Good Friday but the hours might be slightly different.
However, Scotland can continue to have “normal trading hours” around Easter Weekend.
What time is Tesco open this weekend?
It is important that you check your local Tesco’s opening hours using the store locator here as opening hours may vary from store to store.
Generally, all Tesco stores are open for their usual hours on Good Friday and Easter Saturday (April 3).
On Easter Sunday, all England, Wales and Northern Ireland Tesco Extras, Superstores and Metro stores are closed, but Tesco Express stores are open as usual.
As expected, all Tesco stores in Scotland are open for their usual hours.

On Easter Monday, England and Wales Tesco Extras, Superstores and Metro are open from 8am to 6pm.
In Northern Ireland, Tesco Extras and Superstores will stay open from 10am until 7pm on Easter Monday.
Scotland Extras and Superstores will open as usual, and London’s Extras and Superstores will open from 8am until 8pm.
All Tesco Express stores will remain open for the usual hours, as seen on the store finder.
It’s also worth noting that all Petrol Filling Stations open usual hours throughout the Easter Weekend.
