Piers Morgan wants to interview Meghan and Prince Harry to ask ‘hard questions’

Piers Morgan has invited Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to sit down and have a chat with him, in his second interview since leaving Good Morning Britain.

The presenter sat down with Tucker Carlson on Monday night and attacked Meghan by claiming she did not tell the truth in the CBS prime time special with Oprah.

On Tuesday he took a swipe at her again, this time with Billy Bush on ExtraTV.

Billy asked Piers: "If you could speak to Meghan Markle today, what would be the tone of that conversation and what would you say?"

He said: “I would say to Meghan Markle, ‘Look, sit down with me with your husband for an equally long interview than the one you gave Oprah Winfrey and let me ask you more difficult questions about all your claims but let me ask you a wider question, which is this.

"If you hate the royal family that much, why do keep your royal titles?”

Piers continued: "Why do you keep calling yourselves the Duke and Duchess of Sussex?

"Why? Why would you do that if it’s not just to make millions and millions of dollars."

He also blasted Meghan by accusing her of “playing the victim” saying her actions were “frankly nauseating”.

Piers’ previous comments about disbelieving Meghan drew public backlash, and 57,000 complaints to Ofcom which resulted in him quitting GMB.

Mental health charity Mind released a statement stating: “We were disappointed and concerned to see Piers Morgan’s comments on not believing Meghan’s experiences about suicidal thoughts today.

“It’s vital that when people reach out for support or share their experiences of ill mental health that they are treated with dignity, respect and empathy. We are in conversations with ITV about this at the moment.”

Meghan herself reportedly made a complaint to the ITV bosses, a call which Piers claims he did not know about until after he left the show.

He said: “I didn’t even know that Meghan Markle had contacted my bosses at ITV, I didn’t find that out until I left.

“But it was certainly a very interesting revelation from where I sit because clearly, she was trying to put huge pressure on my bosses to take action against me.”

Piers added in the interview that he had been thanked by members of the Royal Family for “standing up for them.”

He said: “I've had some messages communicated to me on behalf on several members of the Royal Family."

"I'm not going to go into who it was but… gratitude that somebody was standing up them.”
