Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William, married in Westminster Abbey back in 2011. They have since had three royal children, Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, three. What is their parenting like?
Being members of the Royal Family means that the couple must follow certain traditional parenting techniques.
However, modern norms allow Kate and William to be more natural with their children, showing them affection in public, something which is unusual for the royals.
The heartwarming video shared by the couple today showed the Cambridge’s on a sunny beach as well as the children being chased around a field.
In a joint tweet from their Kensington Royal Twitter page, the couple said: “Thank you to everyone for the kind messages on our wedding anniversary.
“We are enormously grateful for the 10 years of support we have received in our lives as a family.”
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Principal Psychologist from DH Consulting, Dannielle Haig, explained: “The overt affection that Wills and Kate show towards their children is most definitely unusual for the British Royal Family. But my, how wonderful it is to see.
“As a psychologist, it is well known that children need to feel affection, love, and safety from their parents to truly thrive and be happy in life.
“To be kept at arm’s length and not shown affection as a child, can have all sorts of negative impacts on a child psychologically and emotionally.

“It is healthy to be affectionate as a family and I’m glad that Kate and Wills feel comfortable enough to display this playfulness with their children to the world.”
The expert added that traditional protocol is “softening and evolving” with the times.
She said: “With the amount of influence that the royal couple have, our future King and Queen are setting a great example to other parents to unapologetically enjoy their time with their children.
“I feel like they are showing the world that they are just like us and they are progressing the behaviours and attitudes of Princess Diana in their openness with their parental affections.”
Also speaking to Express.co.uk, Jane Browne, shared that both Kate and William are natural teachers towards their children.
The expert said: “You see the both of them getting stuck in and being very hands on which is what any teacher of children George, Charlotte and Louis age has to do.
“Children learn by seeing and doing. Rarely by being told.
“Just like the best teachers, and the best authors, the trick is to show, not tell.”
For the adorable family video, Kate looked stunning in one of her favourite blouses.
The Marguerite blouse, by Sezane, has been worn by the Duchess on several occasions.
Operating out of Paris, the sustainable brand releases a seasonal collection four times a year.
Kate also has a number of other items from the brand including a beautiful jumper, belt and dresses.
