My new medication is stopping me from getting hard

DEAR DEIDRE: I CAN’T perform in the bedroom now that I’m on blood pressure medication.

The last time I had sex was the day before I started on my new tablets.

I’d been for a check-up as I was getting breathless and the doctor insisted my blood pressure was way too high.

I am overweight but I do try to keep fit, going to the gym, and I walk our dog twice a day.

I still have urges and my wife would be up for sex. Although my head is willing, my body says no.

I’d love to be able to enjoy sex like I used to, but I fear I’ve got to live in a sexless marriage with my beautiful wife.

I’m 56 and she is 51.

DEIDRE SAYS: That would be such a shame. There are plenty of ways to enjoy intimacy without full sexual intercourse and my support pack on Couples Massage shows you how.

Do talk to your doctor as he or she may refer you to a urologist and perhaps alternative treatment.

Keep up with the exercise and perhaps a healthier diet will help you lose weight.
