Following the release of its water-resistant SOLOTEX® collection, Naohiro Fujisaki’s Meanswhile label returns to present its Fall/Winter 2022 collection. Titled “Overprotection,” the upcoming series incorporates a range of high-tech fabrics, hidden details, and understated features. As workwear, hiking gear, and other niche clothing categories continue to be normalized for everyday wear, Meanswhile delivers more than what’s necessary while questioning the practice at the same time.
Collection highlights include a reinterpretation of the classic M65 military jacket which appears as the Tech Tweed Field JKT in tweed featuring details such as parachute buttons and hem drawstrings. The Beaufort Flight JKT which premiered last season returns in additional colorways/upgraded fabrics, and other apparel standouts include Cordura-lined cardigans, knitted fishing vests, Polartec half-zip coats, and tweed military pants.
For accessories, a selection of modular chest bags, arm guards, leg guards, and headwear are dressed in laminated Dyneema composite fabrics. Meanswhile also launches new Overwrap Square sandals available in black, white, and olive green. Made of cowhide leather, the sandals feature embossed logos on the vamp, serrated Vibram platform soles, and heel straps. While Meanswhile’s upcoming pieces are meant to come across as “overprotective” and somewhat unconventional, they maintain a sense of wearability for both casual and specialized-use settings.
Look for Meanswhile’s FW22 collection to begin rolling out on the brand’s website and at select dealers.
