Marvel Entertainment and Sony Delay Jared Leto's 'Morbius' Once Again

Marvel Entertainment and Sony Pictures‘ upcoming Morbius has been delayed once again.

Originally slated for a July release back in 2020, the studios decided to push its premiere to March 2021 due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic and the shuttering of theaters at the time, but without a clear indication of the situation recovering soon, the Jared Leto-starring film has once again been delayed, this time by seven months.

Morbius follows the titular character Michael Morbius — played by Leto — who turns into a living vampire during an attempt to cure his own rare blood condition. The film marks a big step for both Marvel and Sony as it’ll be the first time Sony’s Spider-verse directly connects with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with trailers revealing a Michael Keaton cameo as the Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming and other posters and banners referencing the events between Spider-Man and Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Morbius is now scheduled to release at theaters October 8.

In other entertainment news, Kevin Feige has confirmed that Deadpool 3 will be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
