M&S says the banoffee hot cross buns are "filled with indulgent salted caramel fudge and made with banana puree, topped with bun glaze."

Shoppers can get four of the gooey hot cross buns for just £2 in-store and online via Ocado.

You can find your closest M&S Food by using the store locator tool on its website.

But if you are wanting to buy the sweet treat online via Ocado you'll need to factor in the minimum spend and delivery costs.

According to the online retailer, its delivery charges range from £0 to £6.99 depending on slot availability.

If your order is less than £75, there's a minimum charge of £2.99.

But for standard orders worth £75 or more, you may be offered free delivery.

Shoppers with a Smart Pass can avoid delivery charges but these can set you back up to £89.99 a year.

M&S also sells a further eight different varieties of hot cross buns and they all cost £2 a pack.

Shoppers can get four luxury hot cross buns or nine mini hot cross buns.

Other sweet-flavoured variations include Bramley apple, chocolate and blueberry hot cross buns.

The supermarket also stocks a savoury cheesy variant as well as vegan and wheat-free varieties.

But you should always have a quick shop around first as you might be able to find a similar product cheaper elsewhere.

Prices vary by brand, size and retailer so it's worth having a browse elsewhere before you make a decision.

If you're after four standard hot cross buns, Tesco sells them for just 95p – which is the cheapest we've seen.

Asda also stocks four blueberry hot cross buns for £1.60 – which is 40p cheaper than those on offer in M&S.
