A man who splashed out almost £40,000 transforming his appearance by getting his entire body tattooed has revealed what he looked like before the ink.
And Tristan Weigelt is completely unrecognisable in old snaps – despite only getting his first tatt in 2016.
The 25-year-old has endured 260 hours under the needle to complete his dramatic makeover – and he now admits he” scares” women away.
But tattoo apprentice Tristan loves his jaw-dropping new look and has no regrets.
He told the Daily Star: “People stare a lot but I don’t notice it as much.
“It scares a lot of women away but apart from that there hasn't been any backlash. Most people are really positive.”
However, he added: “My parents hate it.”
Tristan was born in America but currently lives in Copenhagen where he has built a considerable Instagram following by sharing his ink progress.
He was 20-years-old when he got his first tatt and he said the last five years have been a “long journey of pain and healing”.
Most of his body, approximately 95 per cent, is now covered except for his palms, private parts and the bottom of his feet and ears.
He said the “Japanese tradition” inspired his orange tattoo suit which includes a dragon on his back.
Tristan explained that the most painful areas to complete were his face, armpits, solar plexus and feet.
And despite looking completely different, he still recognises himself in old photos, even if his pals don’t.
He said: “Nothing has really changed apart from my skin tone. I’m still the same old me on the inside.
“I certainly don’t feel different inside than I did back then.”
After his first tattoo he soon decided he wanted to be covered with body art.
He explained: “I thought 'why not? I’ve come this far so I might as well continue'.”
Tristan now hopes to help others fulfil their tattoo ambitions and he offered the following advice.
He said: “To anyone out there considering a tattoo, get the tattoo you like.
“Get what you love and what makes sense to you. I see so many people worried about a certain tattoo fitting them or it not being their style. If you like it – then get it.”
Tristan added: “Nobody would’ve told me my tattoos would have fit me if I asked somebody five years ago.
“But now, nobody can imagine me without them.”
Tristan is now planning to get the rest of his face inked in early 2022.
