Jimmy was born in Hounslow, London, on September 15, 1972.

He graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in political science in 1994.

After getting his qualification, the TV personality worked in marketing with oil and gas company Shell for six years.

Jimmy took voluntary redundancy in 2000 and decided to forge his career in comedy.

Before long, he was performing comedy routines including sold out appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
