To celebrate Suzanne Shaw's 40th birthday, here at Daily Star, we're marking the special occasion by taking a look inside the Hear'Say star's life.

From being in the hit-making band Hear'Say, to feuding with bandmate Kym Marsh and living in a luxury pad in Buckinghamshire – Suzanne's life has been full to the brim, to say the least.

We take a look at everything from inside her luxury home to inside her turbulent love life, and her 20 year battle with depression to giving up booze.

Even looking at her massive transformation after going vegan and leading a plant-based life.

Vegan weight-loss transformation

Towards the end of 2020, Suzanne Shaw unveiled her incredible body transformation, when she revealed that going vegan contributed to her reaching a size eight.

Suzanne explained that she had burst into tears after looking at herself in the mirror after becoming the "biggest I'd been without being pregnant" due to gaining weight from emotional eating and boozing.

Suzanne told her followers: "At the beginning of 2020 I wanted to change my lifestyle but not like I’d done in the past…

"Starting a new regime for it to last eight weeks max and then fall off the health wagon and then try a new type of diet or fitness regime and a few months later, fail again and turn to the blame game!

"I wanted to TRULY change it and not let myself down for the 20th year in a row!

She explained that she formed a plan, "EVERYTHING I changed and did was for my mental health…

"RUNNING, GOING ALCOHOL-FREE, PLANT-BASED DIET, MINDFULNESS & MEDITATION.

"The four main elements to my happy plan! And for the first time EVER, I have stuck to it! I’ve completely transformed my life and I’m HAPPY again!!!

Depression battle and giving up booze

Earlier in 2021, Suzanne opened up about her decade-long battle with depression.

The former Emmerdale star told Runner's World magazine that she gave up alcohol for a year and has since got rid of the feeling of "self-loathing" she had before.

Speaking about her mental health battle, Suzanne said: "I've struggled with depression and anxiety for more than 18 years.

"But it was only recently that I felt ready to open up about it because I wanted things to change."

She then explained: "For years, I had been hoping my mental health issues would just go away, but it never happened; instead, I was having more dark days."

She said that she gave up alcohol for a year after developing an "unhealthy" relationship with it.

Suzanne added: "Along with eating rubbish and hiding away when I was anxious, I would turn to drink as a quick fix."

Son with Darren Day

Suzanne made headlines when she got into a relationship with singing sensation Darren Day.

The pair met on the set of the musical Summer Holiday and had a son together.

The couple welcomed Corey in 2004 but sadly split in 2005.

In 2018 while in the Celebrity Big Brother house, Darren spoke fondly of his ex: "We were together for a year and a half, we've got this beautiful boy and at the end of the day, it's all been a happy ending."

Hear'Say reunion rumours

Earlier this year in June (2021) Suzanne revealed that her former noughties pop group were in talks of reuniting for their 20th anniversary.

The group that formed in 2001 and comprises of Suzanne, Kym Marsh, Myleene Klass, Danny Foster and Noel Sullivan.

Chatting to The Sun, she said: "I’d definitely be up for it. Life’s too short to worry about whether it’s cool!”

"The fact that there was a pandemic on our 20 year anniversary definitely meant the stars weren’t aligning for us.

"But I would love to do a one-off concert to mark our 20 years. It’s about proving to my kids that I used to be a pop star!"

She then said fondly: "No matter how close we are to our friends, our family, our partner and our kids, nobody else is going to understand what we went through and have that bond that the five of us have."

Buckinghamshire home

Suzanne moved into a luxury house in Buckinghamshire before lockdown in 2020.

In an exclusive video with OK! Magazine, Suzanne showed off her gorgeous home and her five most-loved areas within it.

She gave viewers a tour of her pad which boasted of a country kitchen, a garden room and a space to practise yoga too.

A keen cook since taking up a vegan lifestyle, the plant-based star revealed that her favourite room is her kitchen.

Speaking to the magazine she said: "My country-style kitchen is where you’ll find me the most,

"It’s where all the magic happens, never mind the bedroom! If you were to find me anywhere in the house, it would probably be in the kitchen."

Split from DJ Jason King

In February 2012, Suzanne split from her now-ex-husband Jason King, a DJ.

The pair first got together when they appeared on Britain's Worst Celebrity Driver back in December 2005.

They were together for three years before announcing their engagement in August 2008.

They got hitched in June 2009 in Christchurch, Dorset and split three years later.

In a joint statement, the couple said: "We had a wonderful time together and have great memories but constantly working away from each other added a lot of pressure and we have ended up growing apart.

"We are still friends and will be making sure we still have family time together for our son's sake."

Kym Marsh feud

Kym Marsh and Suzanne Shaw were bandmates in the group Hear'Say, but things weren't all rosy.

Suzanne and Kym had a falling out when Kym left the band in 2002 after a series of arguments with Suzanne and bandmates Myleene Klass and Noel Sullivan.

The pair were said to have rowed throughout their time in the band that was formed on the ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals.

Suzanne confirmed in 2014 that her friendship with Kym had ended, saying: "I haven't spoken to Kym in years. We don't stay in contact."

But the stars reunited at a party back in 2018, when they put their feud in the past and started anew.

The former band members who hadn't spoken for years hugged each other in front of guests and attendees.

In 2018 The Sun reported that an onlooker said: "Suzanne couldn’t contain her emotions as she and Kym came face-to-face for the first time in years.

"She had tears in her eyes and Kym seemed genuinely touched that she was so happy to see her."
