'I think a lot of people are' – Deontay Wilder predicts winner of Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk 2 | The Sun

DEONTAY WILDER believes he is joined by many in predicting Oleksandr Usyk will do the double over Anthony Joshua.

Usyk beat AJ over 12 convincing rounds last September to set up an immediate rematch in Saudi Arabia on August 20.

But unlike when Joshua avenged defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in Riyadh in 2019, Wilder believes the Brit will return home as a beaten man.

He said on the phone to ESNews: “I’m going with Usyk here, man.

“I’m going with Usyk. I think a lot of people are. It’s boxing at the end of the day, so we’ll see, but I think it’s Usyk.”

Wilder, 36, is yet to fight since his brutal defeat to Tyson Fury, 33, in their October 2021 trilogy bout.

But SunSport understands the American former WBC champion is in line to return again this year.

Meanwhile Joshua, 32, hopes to set up an undisputed super-fight with Fury, by winning back the unified belts Usyk, 35, snatched off him.

He said: “I just want to say god is good, all the time, even through tough times. I’d like to thank everyone for coming out today.

"Definitely the hunger is still there. As I always said from the get-go, stay hungry. Just keep the motivation high.
