Eight celebrities who absolutely love the darts from Prince Harry to Toni Kroos

Christmas time means exchanging presents, spending time with family, and for sports fans – watching the darts.

Every year as the festive season rolls around, so too comes with it the PDC World Championships bonanza at Alexandra Palace.

The party atmosphere, tense competition and unpredictable moments are the perfect remedy for the British public who have endured a long hard year – and they absolutely love it.

They are not the only ones, though, as many celebrities have been in attendance through the years.

Daily Star Sport are taking a look at eight famous faces who are big fans of the darts…

Jack Whitehall

Perhaps the biggest celeb fan of the sport, Jack Whitehall, cannot stay away from Ally Pally.

He's been in the crowd on several occasions, including in 2014 when he went in fancy dress before finding out it was banned in the section he was sat in.

"Gutted. Good effort tho," the comedian tweeted.

Stephen Fry

Stephen Fry certainly puts up a very big claim for biggest darts fan too.

He presented Phil 'The Power' Taylor with his 2010 Premier League trophy, and a year later declared his love for the sport in an open letter.

“There is no way adequately to describe my fascination with this game," he wrote.

Prince Harry

The darts bug is so infectious that it even reached the British Royal Family in 2014.

Prince Harry was spotted mixing it with the masses at the World Champs, sat on a table with his mates and Eddie Hearn.

David Harewood

While Harry was getting most of the attention, Homeland actor David Harewood was also at Ally Pally on the same night.

The PDC made sure he didn't go unnoticed, tweeting about his appearance to which he replied "get in!!" on the social media platform.

Chris Pratt

American Chris Pratt hasn't yet ventured over the pond to watch darts in the flesh – but it is almost certainly on his bucket list.

In 2018, he shared an image online after he had managed to hit one dart into another on his board at home.

"My dart in dart bulls-eye is not only THE single greatest accomplishment in sports history… it’s the single greatest accomplishment in the history of mankind," the Guardians of the Galaxy star claimed.

"And if you disagree with me maybe you need to read a book about all of history and try to find something better or more amazing."

Toni Kroos

Despite the darts scene being relatively small in Germany, their football sensation Toni Kroos is a massive fan of it and the legendary Taylor.

He got a picture with him while a Bayern Munich player and tweeted after his 2018 retirement: "This career is unrepeatable. Darts means Phil Taylor!"

Lee Westwood

Another huge Taylor fan is golfer Lee Westwood, who rocked up to the 2017 championships in full festive spirit with a Christmas jumper on.

"Brilliant night at the darts. Great to see Phil Taylor win #legend," he tweeted after his evening out.

Niall Horan

On one of the aforementioned trips Whitehall made to Ally Pally, he was joined by former One Direction member Niall Horan.

The Irishman was making up for lost time after the band split in 2016, taking in the action and even getting a pic with the walk on girls.
