Kate Middleton joined the Royal Family when she married the Queen’s grandson, and future King of Britain, Prince William, 37, in 2011. This week, Kate has had a busy week so when it came to winding down and relaxing from royal duties, the Duchess of Cambridge stopped off Waterstones on Kensington High Street and was pictured leaving the store with a tote full of books, but her most recent outing has sparked coronavirus fears among royal fans.

Royal fans have sparked concerns for Kate, Duchess of Cambridge after she was pictured on Friday deliberately ignoring coronavirus warnings when she insistent on opening her own car door to her awaiting car.
What is Coronavirus?
The Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is a virus that causes pneumonia. It was first encountered in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and has gone on to affect over 100,000 people in over 80 countries around the globe, causing more than 3,000 deaths.
Those who have fallen ill are reported to suffer coughs, fever and breathing difficulties. In severe cases, there can be organ failure.
Fans of the royal were quick to jump in on social media to voice their concerns when the Duchess was pictured opening her own door, one social media user said: “I’m worried about Kate Middleton, I know she’s independent but she’s royalty … insisting on opening her own door is just making her more likely to catch the [corona] virus.”
Another added: “Damn Kate you’re really about to open your own car door and risk the coronavirus?”
A third said: “Kate Middleton is legit the only person I’m mad at for opening her own car door but I love her so much she better not get the [corona] virus.”
The reason many fans were quick to criticise the Duchess over a simple task was that this week the government revealed that the coronavirus can spread from surfaces to people’s hands, however, not every royal fan agreed.
Replying to a concerned fan, one social media user wrote: “Kate Middleton opening her own door doesn’t mean she’ll get the coronavirus. If anything isn’t she limiting people’s contact with her door?”
“I think opening her own door is the least of her problems, Kate Middleton is more likely to get the coronavirus from shaking hands with everyone else,” one user wrote.
A third simply wrote “Kate won’t get coronavirus from this,” alongside the images of the Duchess of Cambridge opening her car door.
Although royal fans seem to be divided on whether Kate Middleton is putting herself in unnecessary risk, the current information on the NHS website states that because the Coronavirus is a new illness “we do not know exactly how coronavirus spreads from person to person” and added that “it’s very unlikely it can be spread through things like packages or food.”
And although the NHS doesn’t provide any advice when it comes to car doors, it is unlikely that Kate is putting herself at any extra risk than anyone else.
