Cheltenham Festival racing tips: Sun Racing Placepot selections for Tuesday at the Festival

YOU can win big from a small stake at the Cheltenham Festival by putting on a Placepot.

All you need to do is pick a minimum of one horse from the first six races, and if they finish placed you cash in! Here are our selections for day one.

Race 1: 1.30 Supreme Novices Hurdle

Stick ASTERION FORLONGE in for the first leg.

Willie Mullins' improving youngster stayed on strongly to win at Grade 1 level at Leopardstown last time.

He is on a sharp upward curve and comes here with a huge chance.

Race 2: 2.10 Arkle Novices' Chase

There could be plenty of pace on here, which could tee things up for FAKIR D'OUDARIES.

Joseph O'Brien's star five-year-old was far from disgraced behind Notebook over Christmas, and if they go hard it will bring his stamina into play.

Race 3: 2.50 Ultima Handicap Chase

Best to have a couple of picks here, given the competitive nature of the race.

Stick in KILDISART, who caught the eye when fifth at Kempton last month and with this stiffer track set to suit.

And make sure you include THE CONDITIONAL, who travelled well but didn't get home in the Classic Chase over 3m5f at Warwick.

Race 4: 3.30 Champion Hurdle

A wide-open renewal of the Champion, and though he is vulnerable for the win PENTLAND HILLS should hit the frame.

He will be held up off a likely strong pace and he could come through late to pick up the pieces.

Race 5: 4.10 Mares' Hurdle

It's impossible to see BENIE DES DIEUX out of the first three.

She is one of the best mares' in training and she would have won by a wide-margin in this last year but for a final flight fall.

Race 6: 4.50 Novice Handicap Chase

Again probably worth sticking a couple of horses in for the final leg.

PRECIOUS CARGO has been crying out for the step up to this trip and is potentially well-weighted.

Cover yourself with BEAKSTOWN, who is also on a tempting mark and gets first-time cheekpieces.
