ARSENAL are keen on signing Palmeiras star Danilo, according to reports.
Danilo, 20, has impressed in a defensive midfield role for the Brazilian side and helped them to the Copa Libertadores title last year.
And he has a number of suitors including Lille and Monaco as well as Arsenal.
All three clubs have inquired about Danilo's availability, according to TNT Sports.
But they were told he is not for sale this month due to his importance to the side – with Palmeiras due to take part in the Club World Cup next month.
As a result, Arsenal have not yet made an offer for Danilo with Palmeiras refusing to enter negotiations.
That means the Gunners may have to wait until the summer to attempt to sign him.
But Mikel Arteta has confirmed Arsenal are looking to do business this month and signing a midfielder is high on his agenda.

Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is said to be their no 1 target, while Juventus man Arthur Melo is also linked with a loan move to The Emirates.
Guimares revealed Arsenal's interest before placing doubt on a possible move.
He said: "Arsenal approached my agent, but there was no offer. My aim, and I made it clear to Juninho, is to win a title with Lyon."
That means Arsenal could look elsewhere, possibly to Lille star Renato Sanches after Barcelona ended their interest in the Portuguese midfielder.
