Supermarket giant Aldi has brought back one of its best-loved product dupes, the Lacura Hair Mask (£4.99 here), much to the delight of spend-savvy beauty enthusiasts everywhere.

The bargain buy contains two of the same ingredients found in the sell-out Coco and Eve Like A Virgin Mask (£29.75 here), namely coconut and fig – but it comes with a much cheaper price tag.

Judging by its online reviews it’s deemed one of the best hair masks for a small budget, as the little pot of deep conditioning magic promises to strengthen the feel of hair, improve the look of frizz and split ends and leave your tresses shiny and soft. And all that for less than a fiver.

Savvy shoppers who opt for the Lacura offering will save themselves around 85%, and could stock up on four of the masks for the amount they’d pay for a more luxury offering. Impressively, the product has only racked up reviews rating it four or five stars out of five.

"Long-awaited dupe of a cult classic," writes one five-star reviewer on the Aldi website. "Recognisable by the packaging, font and 5 in 1 miracle treatment. Hard to review without comparing as I own both.

"Smells lush [although] not as great as the original, but performs as well if not better at a fraction of the price. Finally found another Aldi product to ditch the high end version for."

Another happy shopper adds: "[This] smells divine, made my dry hair incredibly soft and so much easier to manage, less frizz, already planning to go back and grab some more before it all goes!"

Meanwhile a third writes: "Mask smells lovely and leaves hair soft and silky. Could have a creamier texture, it's more like a cream jelly than a hair butter mask. Otherwise I would mistake it for The Body Shop."

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Aldi has offered budget beauty buyers the chance to snap up products that resemble higher-end brands.

Earlier this year, they launched products with a strong resemblance to cult brands Glow Recipe and Laneige, and they’ve previously released candles with a strong likeness to Jo Malone London’s signature jars.

We wonder which beauty dupe they’ll roll out next!
