Paralympic athlete Stef Reid, 36, has been rehearsing with her Dancing On Ice professional partner Andy Buchanan. However, yesterday Stef felt the need to check if the splinters in her skating foot were superficial or “a warning sign”, admitting they sparked some concern.

The track and field Paralympian took to Instagram today to share a photo of where the foot had splintered with her 6,188 followers.

The sports star wrote in the caption: “Bit of a scare yesterday when we noticed some splinters in my skating foot.

“I’ve seen it before when working in a new running blade.

“It’s not unusual but you have to check if the splinter is superficial or a warning sign.”

Yesterday Stef shared an impressive video of her and Andy taking a spin on the ice, where the pro skater was able to lift and hold her as they spun around in a circle.

“I don’t know how to get down!” she yelled between giggles as she landed back on the ice, only to almost fall over.

“Dancing On Ice 2022 Champions right here!” Andy quipped after catching Stef from slipping.

On her story, Stef also shared a view reservations about her skating abilities, only to be immediately reassured by her partner.

“Today was great because we got to go and mark out where everything was going to be.

“And I don’t know, I still just feel like I’m not a great skater, so I just need to get that out of my head and just be like, ‘No, you are good, you can do this, just go for it.’”

Andy replied: “You’re better than you think you are, which is great.

“Because if you thought you were amazing and you had an attitude that would be a nightmare, but you’re so nice,” he added.
