Ulrika Jonsson’s daughter Bo has said she’s not yet “ready” to meet her biological father Markus when they cross paths during a working stint in Corfu, Greece, this month.
The 20 year old wrote a personal piece explaining her feelings on growing up without her father, how she coped with finding out he existed and who he was from her mum, and the decision she’s come to about whether to embark on a relationship with him at this stage in her life.
The beautiful blonde, who is the spitting image of her mum, 54, said not only was she afraid the meeting would “open up a whole can of worms” for her and Ulrika, but there’s just “no space in her life” for him right now.
“I don’t have any angry feelings towards him because of anything he has done to me,” Bo wrote in The Sun. “But more because I feel he caused my mum so much pain, especially during all those worrying times when I was poorly. On this occasion, I’ve decided not to meet.
“I’m worried it’s going to open up a can of worms for me and Mum, although she has been fully supportive if that’s what I wanted. I believe I do want to meet him at some stage but when that is I don’t know.
“There are a lot of feelings for me to process because I know I’ll want to ask him: ‘Where have you been the past 20 years of my life?’”
Ulrika’s daughter went on to say she knows she’ll find it difficult to come face to face with the man who she believes has put her mum through the worst pain and hurt of her life – due to walking away after Bo was born.
Bo was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition called Double Inlet Left Ventricle when Ulrika was pregnant.
The famous daughter has already had one closed and two open-heart surgeries in her life so far.

As a result of going through that alone, she revealed hers and Ulrika’s bond is “incredibly strong”.
Bo also admitted she was in “floods of tears” while writing the intensely personal article.
“What I’ve realised, and perhaps what I’ve always known, is that blood doesn’t make someone family,” Bo explained, saying she sees her mum’s third husband Brian Monet as her “daddy”.
The star added there is “no space” for Markus in her life right now, but she is gradually preparing for the day when they will eventually meet.

“It makes me nervous and full of anticipation. But as long as I have Mum by my side, I think I’ll be able to deal with it. I’m just not ready right now,” Bo added.
Swedish-British TV presenter Ulrika, who used to present hit show Gladiators in the 90s, has also weighed in on her daughter’s tricky decision, and how it “brought up memories” from the past.
The former weather reporter, who is currently starring in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and has had a gruelling experience, shared: “I had people contact me from different perspectives and in similar or the same situation as my daughter and me, which I found very moving.
“I realise this is a more common phenomenon than I thought and many children and parents have been through the same or a similar experience.”
The mum-of-four also revealed the entire process has been “cathartic” for her and her daughter, and it has been enlightening because it’s the first time she’s heard Bo “share her inner thoughts and emotions” about never knowing her “real dad”.
