John Whaite praised Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling-Ellis after the EastEnders actress claimed the coveted glitterball trophy.
The Great British Bake Off star, 32, posted a heartfelt tribute to the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 champion and fans of the dancer shared the love on his Instagram snap of them both.
John took a selfie of the pair smiling together on the night Rose took home the glitterball prize with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice in an incredible final.
In the post to over 280,000 followers, the star wrote: "I’m so proud to have been even up there with this girl. I’m sure you’ll agree she’s a remarkable human being, a barrier breaker, and a very worthy winner."

John, who performed with Johannes Radebe, added: "Congratulations @rose.a.e and @pernicegiovann1"
Some famous fans of Strictly flooded the comments section with praise for the inspirational John and Rose.
The Steph's Packed Lunch presenter was part of the first ever male same-sex dance couple and EastEnders actress Rose represented the first ever deaf contestant of the show and both received huge praise for breaking down barriers.
Fellow Bake Off Star Rahul wrote: "Congratulations Rose! For me you and Rose both are winners….both have performed brilliantly and you John specially…everytime I watch your performances back, I got goosebumps."
He added: "You are an amazing person and an inspiration to all.. love you a lot. Hope to meet you in person oneday!!"
Michelle Visage added to the love for the pair, commenting, "You both were amazing this whole series" and TV presenting veteran Gaby Roslin echoed the sentiment, writing "you were both blooming brilliant."
John also reflected on his Strictly experience in another touching social media post, sharing: "When the glitter has faded and the spotlights have dimmed, I hope you all cherish something mighty special from this that will live on in your hearts."
The 2021 Bake Off Winner also admitted he nearly quit the show due to nerves but the series runner-up was proud to break down barriers and inspire people to not be fearful of being themselves.
He wrote: "I’m so proud to have been part of such a diverse, groundbreaking series of @bbcstrictly. What started life as an entertainment show has this year provided solace for so many outcasts. Whoever you may be, I pray you always have the heart to be kind, to be understanding and to love. It really is as simple as that."
