Motsi Mabuse, 40, has spoken out about her Strictly Come Dancing 2021 “team”, consisting of Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, and Shirley Ballas. The professional dancer has revealed what goes on behind-the-scenes, as she explained that the judges “laugh a lot”.
Motsi made the remarks while responding to questions from fans on the Strictly Come Dancing Official Podcast.
When asked about how she feels before each show, Motsi replied: “You know, I’m really very, very calm before the shows.
“I like my team because we laugh a lot… but then, shortly before the show, I put on some music and I think, ‘Anton is just going to hate me’.
“Because he’s next door…”
Podcast producer Kim Winston then interrupted, saying: “He says it’s loud. I can confirm that.
“He says it’s very loud.”
Motsi explained: “Because for me, music is the best stimulant, you know.
“And everybody knows what my day job is.
“So if I come with it, literally we’re all asleep, so I need to get that Motsi out of the dark place.”
But despite being on good terms with the judges, during week eight of the show, Motsi was on the receiving end of one of Craig’s digs.
Commenting on her neon yellow dress, Craig said: “I’ve got to admit, I’ve got a bit of a headache, actually.
“It’s something to do with Motsi’s lime green outfit.”
Motsi was quick to hit back as she accused Craig of being “obsessed” with her.
She said: “This man and my outfit, we all know Craig you are obsessed with me. We know.”
Some viewers took to Twitter to point out the dress’ resemblance to a highlighter marker.
dianeemccarthy stated: “Motsi looks like a highlighter pen.”
LeceWoody penned: “Motsi always looks stunning but I can’t even get my highlighter pen that bright!
“My retinas!!! #Strictly.”
rng88991 quipped: “Is it glow in the dark ?”
Oleemorris said: “Nice of Motsi to come as Marge Simpson tonight.”
