Megan Barton-Hanson gushes over ‘down to earth’ James Lock amid romance

Megan Barton-Hanson has called her new beau James Lock "down to earth and intelligent" as the new couple continue to get closer.

Former Love Island star Megan, 27, was first linked to The Only Way is Essex star James, 35, a couple of months ago.

The pair have gradually been sharing different stories and videos depicting their budding romance ever since, but for the first time Megan has spoken openly about her new man.

Going from strength to strength, the duo seem to get on like a house on fire already and Megan didn't hold back in her gushing new interview.

Revealing she only ever thought of Lockie as the "bad boy" of TOWIE in the past, Megan told MailOnline: "He's not really this character that I… well I used to watch Towie back in the day when he was the bad boy.

"He's so down to earth. He's easy to talk to. He's so intelligent and you don't really see that on TV but, yeah, we're having a great time."

The Instagram influencer and model went on to say that James has already "opened her eyes" to new things and they've loved spending so much time together.

Megan added the reality star has really "surprised" her because she really didn't believe he would be so caring and humble at the same time.

But when OK! spoke to James at the VIP preview of Lakeside's Christmas Wonderland earlier this month, he clarified their relationship status and insisted they're not official.

"I'm not with Megan," James said. "We're spending a lot of time together, we're just seeing how things go. We're not official at the minute, I know people jump to conclusions and try to push us but we're just enjoying each other's company."

Megan, who came out as bisexual after her appearance on Love Island, has dated James's friend and TOWIE co-star Demi Sims in the past.

While Megan and Demi sadly didn't end their relationship on good terms, the latter has since given her blessing to her co-star on the ITVBe show.

She told him that as long as Megan made him happy, she was excited for his future.

What's more, Pete Wicks joked about the two stars having the "same taste" in women, as the group joked James could go after someone else's ex next.

The star has also said that due to him and Megan both having unsuccessful relationships in the public eye in the past, they're determined to "take it slow" and not ruin things before they've really begun.

The Only Way Is Essex airs Sundays on ITVBe.
