Love Island first look as iconic baby challenge returns tonight

Love Island fans rejoice! The baby challenge is back, and this year's Islanders will show if they're ready to be parents or not.

Waking up, Ekin-Su questions: “Wait, what is that noise?”

Tasha laughs: “This is my nightmare, I’ve actually woken up to a nightmare.”

As the Islanders name, dress, feed, comfort and play with their babies, their skills as parents are being put to the test, with an award for the best parents up for grabs at the end of the day.

While Tasha's not overly enthused at the idea of looking after a toy baby for the day, Davide embraces his paternal side.

Speaking about his day, he says: "It’s going well, she just ate, we’ll do some activities later today. We’ll do some gym squats later with the baby.”

Then mums go on to be treated to a girls brunch, leaving the boys in charge of the babies for the afternoon.

Making up for Tasha's lack of excitement, Andrew says of the mum's trip out of the villa: "We can have a dad’s bonding session with the kids!”

Following their brunch, the girls return to the villa to enjoy a baby disco with their kids and partners where Tasha appears to have a change of heart.

"I had the time of my life, this is so adorable!” she says.

As Davide gushes about the prospect of becoming a dad one day, Ekin-Su treats the babies and her fellow Islanders to a rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

The challenge gets Gemma and Luca talking about the prospect of having a family, where Gemma quips that Luca will be the one to take their kids to football training.

Gemma later adds: “I always knew I wanted a lot of kids because I came from a big family… I wouldn’t go as far as broody but when the time’s right, the time’s right.”

The pair's conversation comes after things came to blows between them after Gemma got some of the boys hot under the collar on Tuesday night's challenge, much to Luca's dislike. So much so, he appeared to push Gemma off him during the challenge.

The 23 year old fish monger ended up storming off following a heated discussion between him and Gemma, but they later seemed to reconcile.

In light of their argument and him appearing pushing her, Luca's family have issued another statement via social media.

They wrote: "9/10 weeks of no contact with any family and friends. It's a crazy intense environment where emotions are heightened.

"Learning to have disagreements and resolve them it is part of all successful relationships. Society preaches for men to not bottle things up and to open up??? So proud of how vulnerable and in touch with his emotions he's been. Nothing but real."

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
