Little Mix announce Strictly’s Chris Ramsey as host of their BBC show The Search

Little Mix have announced that Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Ramsey will host their new BBC show The Search.

The comedian hails from South Shields, the same North East town as band members Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards.

Now, he's joining forces with his fellow Geordies, as well as Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, for the talent show.

Chris will host the show, which sees Little Mix audition singers to put together a band who will support them on their next tour.

Sharing a promo snap of them all posing up together, with funnyman Chris at the centre, Little Mix wrote on Twitter : "Beyond excited to announce @IAmChrisRamsey as the host of @LMTheSearch… South Shields takeover on @BBCOne"

While another replied: "OMGGGGG THIS IS THE BEST NEWS I HAVE RECIEVED THIS MORNINGGGG"

The promo image sees Chris and Little Mix posing up together in front of a pink backdrop.

Chris stands in the centre, looking handsome in a sharp suit jacket, but kept it casual with a white T-shirt, jeans and trainers.

Perrie unveiled her pins in a stunning pink blazer dress, while Jesy was looking gorgeous in a lacy black corset and trousers.

Jade, who propped one arm on Chris' shoulder, stunned in a red satin dress with a sleeveless black jacket on top and unique ruched red boots.

While Leigh-Anne looked incredible in a black PVC jumpsuit.

Chris, who hosts award-winning podcast S*****d Married Annoyed with his wife Rosie, cheekily teased the announcement earlier this week.

He tweeted on Monday: "I think I’ve got an announcement today… can’t remember when I am allowed to tell you (Sorry!)"

But later added: "Nope. It's Wednesday. I'm not allowed to tell you until Wednesday. So… as you were… if you gave a s**t?!"

His wife teased him by quoting his original tweet and writing: "I hate it when people do this."

Little Mix: The Search is said to be hitting screens next month.
