Katie Price has been left facing more upset as her eldest son Harvey will be leaving home this week to stay overnight at his residential college.

The 43 year old proudly announced earlier this month that her 19 year old son – who suffers from ADHD, autism, Prader-Willi Syndrome and septo-optic dysplasia, which causes blindness – had landed a place at a £360,000 school in Gloucestershire.

Former glamour model Katie previously admitted she was "distraught" at the idea of Harvey leaving home, with her emotions now being heightened as he prepares to spend a trial night at the college this week.

A source says Katie is "heartbroken" at being separated from Harvey, who she brought up as a single mum.

The insider told The Sun: "Katie's heartbroken but knows that Harvey will have a brilliant time at his new college.

"He's going for his first overnight stay this week to get used to things and being away from home."

Katie and Harvey were seen selecting the college in the documentary Harvey and Me, which has been nominated for an NTA.

The mum-of-five said in the documentary: "It's so upsetting to think I won't see Harvey every day but this is the best thing for Harvey and we have to think positively because I don't want him to think I'm just getting rid of him.

"I need to learn to let go but it's tough – anyone in my position knows how hard it is. We have an incredible bond.

"I don't know how Harvey will react or how he'll feel when I can't get to him. It's too painful to think about."

It was announced this month that Harvey had been accepted into their first choice college, which is a three-hour drive from Katie's Essex home.

Last month, she shared how excited she was to see Harvey graduate, posting a photo of him receiving his graduation certificate on Instagram.

She wrote: "Harvey's so happy with his certificate for graduating. He is just so amazing my absolute life soul and joy."
