Kate Middleton stuns in green as she and Prince William land in Dublin to begin royal tour around Ireland

Kate Middleton and her husband Prince William were all smiles as as they landed in Dublin, Ireland to kickstart their three day tour in the country.

The 38 year old Duchess of Cambridge and the 37 year old Duke of Cambridge are set to see parts of Dublin, Galway, Meath and Kildare as part of the trip.

The royal couple are taking part in the tour at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Kate wore a stunning emerald green jacket over a floral patterned green dress which she matched with a classy pair of emerald green shoes, which is the national colour of Ireland.

The Duchess' wavy locks, which were pushed away from her face with a fashionable velvet black hairband, blew in wind while she and her husband William walked down the steps of the plane they took to travel to the Emerald Isle.

Meanwhile, William walked next to his wife and matched her outfit by wearing an emerald green tie with white spots on.

Later in the day, Kate took off her coat to show off the incredible style of her floral green dress, which had puff sleeves with an elongated cuff and a high neckline along with a ruffled front, as she arrived to meet with the President of Ireland Michael Higgins.

A statement released by Kensington Palace ahead of the couple’s trip said: “Following Her Majesty the Queen's historic visit in 2011, the visit will also focus on the relationship between the two countries and build on the theme of remembrance and reconciliation.”

The official visit will see the Duke and Duchess “learn about local organisations working to support and empower young people and projects which provide opportunities to help them develop important life skills”.

The royal couple will “meet a broad range of people” while in Ireland including President Michael Higgins, 78, the prime minister – called the Taoiseach in Ireland – Leo Varadkar and a number of senior political leaders as well as children and young people from the Emerald Isle.

The statement from Kensington Palace added: “The UK’s links with Ireland are extensive, and The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to building a lasting friendship with the Irish people.”

The itinerary sees the couple begin their tour in Dublin City Centre, The Garden of Remembrance, Government Buildings and the Guinness Store House on their first day.

Then, on the second day of the visit Kate and William will visit Temple Bar in Dublin, before heading to Prosperous in County Kildare and then to Grange in County Meath as well as Howth in County Dublin.

On the final day of their tour, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will visit a local GAA club as well as Galway city centre.

Meanwhile, William’s brother Prince Harry, 35, has been told by The Queen he will “always be welcomed back” into the royal family after he returned to the UK to complete his final duties before he steps back from his role as a senior member of the royal family.

According to the insider, the Duke of Sussex's grandmother ended a four hour intimate chat with Harry by telling him: “You are much loved and will always be welcomed back.”
