Kate Garraway arrived at the Global Radio headquarters in London this morning ahead of her stint on the radio. The 53-year-old presenter looked a bit flustered as she hopped off a motorbike, which had transported her across town in time for her mid-morning show on Smooth Radio.

The mum-of-two was sporting a camel coat for her outing, which she wore over a patterned dress and high-heeled boots.

She wore her tresses loose to her shoulders and sported an obligatory face mask.

At one point her hair covered the majority of her face, as she removed her safety helmet and tried to straighten herself up, ready for work.

The Good Morning Britain presenter was snapped making her way into the building for her shift.

Last week, Kate’s heartbreaking documentary Finding Derek aired on ITV.

It’s broadcast coincided with the one-year anniversary of lockdown.

Over 4.5 million tuned in to watch the programme, which followed her husband Derek Draper’s recovery after contracting COVID-19 last March.

Kate let cameras into her home to film her life, as the family attempted to come to terms with his ongoing hospitalisation.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2005, are parents to two children – daughter Darcey, 15, and son William, known as Billy, 11.

The pair both made an appearance on the fly-on-the-wall show and spoke about missing their father.

Their eldest child said she “won’t give up hope” that her dad will get better.

Billy, who loves to build Lego with his father, said: “I really want him back but we don’t know if he is going to get better or not.”

Derek has spent more than a year in hospital after contracting the virus on March 30, 2020.

He no longer has coronavirus but is battling several health issues.

He has sustained damage to his liver and pancreas and was left with clots in his lungs due to the virus.

The 53-year-old, who has lost eight stone in weight since being admitted to hospital, underwent a tracheotomy and has holes in his heart.

Kate is currently having work done on her home in order to make it safe for her husband’s return.

Her plans, which were delayed during the most recent lockdown, include building ramps and widening doorways for better wheelchair access.

The GMB host admitted that she was worried about the prospect of being her husband’s full-time carer when he finally comes home.

“If he needs 24-hour care, I will be the primary carer,” she said in the documentary.

“I have a fear of the reality of that life. It’s a completely different dynamic to our relationship,” she candidly added.
