Lorraine Kelly, 61, has taken to Twitter to speak out on some criticism that had been aimed at her self-titled ITV show. It comes after a Lorraine viewer was quick to point out the “irony” of a warning the host had issued in reference to her guest Jamie Lee Curtis’ film, Halloween Kills.

Lorraine had told fans to expect “scary scenes”, as a preview of Curtis’ upcoming horror film sequel aired.

Twitter user Jonathan Larkin quipped that Lorraine should have also warned viewers of “the bizarre and disturbing moments” that one of her other guests would bring.

The viewer pointed towards Lorraine’s interview with Jack Whitehall’s father Michael Whitehall, who introduced her to his doll, Winston Whitehall.

Fans of Jack and Michael’s hit Netflix series Travels with My Father will be familiar with Winston, who is a Luk Thep doll that the father and son duo “adopted” during their visit to Thailand in the first season.

The pair purchased the doll, which is believed to be a good luck charm, as it bore a resemblance to Jack.

The doll has been a star in the show ever since.

Addressing the doll’s somewhat creepy appearance, Jonathan penned: “The irony of @reallorraine warning against scary scenes in #HalloweenKills having subjected us to the bizarre and disturbing moments with the Whitehalls and the Winston doll!”

After spotting the viewer’s lighthearted complaint, Lorraine admitted that he had a point.

The star retweeted his comment in view of her 658,000 followers and added: “Fair comment.”

“It should have come with a laughing emoji, sorry. But you get what I mean!” The Twitter user replied to Lorraine.

Fortunately, Lorraine’s interview with Curtis went off without a hitch, as she declared her appreciation for the Hollywood star.

The Scottish TV presenter gushed over the actress when fan Christian Guiltenane penned: “What a hoot @jamieleecurtis is on @lorraine.

“Can’t wait to watch @halloweenmovie @reallorraine.”

Lorraine simply wrote back: “I love @jamieleecurtis xx.”

During their interview, Jamie, 62, admitted she “hated” plastic surgery after her own negative experiences.

The star told Lorraine: “I have been an advocate for natural beauty for a long time, mostly because I’ve had the trial and error of the other part.

“I did plastic surgery – it didn’t work. I hated it.

“It made me feel worse. I tried to do everything you can do to your hair. Personally, I felt it was humiliating.”

She added: “I would go into a hair salon, the smell of the chemicals, the feeling of that colour on my hair, sitting under the hairdryer – it was like, for what?”
