Kym Marsh, 45, is gearing up to play the iconic bunny boiler, Alex Forrest, in the stage adaptation of 80s classic, Fatal Attraction. As the show’s opening night approaches, Kym has reportedly been left disheartened by the lack of ticket sales.
The hotly anticipated show was expected to sell-out, however only a few dozen tickets have been sold for the opening night on January 14, according to reports.
It is thought theatre-lovers haven’t purchased tickets due to soaring Covid cases and fears about the new Omicron variant.
A theatre source told The Sun: “This is a crying shame because Kym came into this expecting to be playing to big audiences.
“But now people are just so nervous over Covid that they are not looking to purchase theatre tickets.”

Representatives for Kym Marsh, Fatal Attraction – The Play and Theatre Royal Brighton have been contacted for comment by Express.co.uk.
The former Coronation Street star will take to the stage in early 2022 beginning at Brighton’s Theatre Royal, then moving to Newcastle, Edinburgh, Bath, Nottingham, Manchester and Birmingham.
Speaking to Steve Wright on BBC Radio Two, Kym gushed about her upcoming performance as she prepares to take on Glenn Close’s iconic role.
She said: “[Alex] is such a brilliant character to play. When I left Coronation Street, I said I wanted to do other things, I wanted to get a role that would give me a real challenge and I’ve certainly got that with Alex!”
The Morning Live presenter also teased that the ending to the play is slightly different to the film because Michael Douglas’s character “kind of gets away with it”.
Steve then asked whether “the bunny lives”, to which Kym giggled and said: “Sadly not.”
The play will see Kym’s Alex start a steamy affair with married lawyer Dan Gallagher (Oliver Farnworth).
However, Dan feels the consequences when Alex becomes obsessed with him and tries to sabotage his marriage.

Kym has explained that she had to undergo extra preparation for the “racy” moments in the play.
She confessed she had upped her fitness regime to get into her ideal shape.
Speaking to the publication, the actress said: “There is one particularly racy scene, and I must admit that’s a bit daunting.
“I’ve never had to do intimate scenes like that, so this is all a very new thing for me.
“Once I got told I was doing it, I was like, ‘Nobody needs to see this body right now’.
“I’m 45, I’ve had four children and I’ve not had an easy year with my fitness — it had to go on the back burner.
“Of course, I’m not going to be totally naked, but it’s still baring more flesh than you may want to in front of hundreds of people in a theatre every night.
“I just need to feel confident doing it, so I’m working hard at the gym to try to get in shape.”
