A “strange” guitar once owned by Beatles legends John Lennon and George Harrison has been valued at £400,000, or $513,388, on the “Antiques Roadshow,” organized by BBC.
The guitar’s current owner Ray told the BBC that he was given the guitar because he could play it better than Harrison.
Ray, who was recording sessions for a film company that Harrison co-founded, described the guitar as “a strange old thing to play”.
“To a guitar collector, it’s initially a very rare guitar”, “Antiques Roadshow” expert Jon Baddeley said in a recent episode of the BBC show.
“Then to somebody who’s a Beatles fan, to own a guitar that was once owned by both John Lennon and George Harrison, can you get a better history? Two of the most important rock stars of the 20th Century,” he added.
The guitar was manufactured by Bartell’s of California.
